The Denis Ferranti Group wholly owns Fractional HP Motors Ltd., (FRACMO), designers and manufacturers of DC Drive Systems. FRACMO, with over 70 years experience, are specialists in their field, offering a range of permanent magnet and brushless low voltage motors, from 0.04 to o.750 Kw output, and in-line & right angled geared motors and transaxle units.

Bespoke applications

FRACMO does not produce high volume ‘off-the-shelf' products, but concentrates on markets where their strength in design and quality are best deployed. Applications include powered wheelchairs, hoists, and access ramps in the healthcare market; ordnance disposal robot drives and rotational antennae drives in the defence market, and drives for electric vehicles and materials handling tugs. FRACMO motors power heavy-duty machinery such as hydraulic systems and also delicate equipment such as laboratory test rigs.

Increasingly FRACMO are now providing complete manufactured solutions including sub-assemblies and whole product solutions, using the facilities available within the Ferranti facility
